Swarovski Crystal Cake
The first cake I'd like to show is one of my all time favourites. Designed by Ron Ben-Israel, it was used in the sex and the city 2 movie and contains approximately $16,000(US) of Swarovski crystals!! At the time, this cake was worth $32,000 (US).
The design is supposed to reflect frozen water, it took an amazing 450 hours to make and the acrylic stand was custom made for this cake. Not bad for a cake made for just 30 seconds of screen time.
I'm so in love with this cake, not just for the overall presence it has, but also the finer details. The closer you look at it, the more you see, and the more incredible it appears. I usually say that any cake can be reworked into any size, but this is the exception to the rule. It's abit like a Michael Jackson song, no one should try and rework it.
This 5 tiered cake is flawless in every way, and is definitely on my all time favourite list.
Diamonds and Cake
And now just when you thought you'd seen it all, This is what you get when you combine diamonds, cake, and a talented cake decorator.
When it was made, this cake was claimed to be the world's most expensive cake with real diamonds used. I have read different reports on this cake's exact value, but it is known as the million dollar cake.
This isn't the greatest photo, but you can see the fine art hand painted onto the cake, and the diamonds that were actually used very tastefully.
And this image is to show you how cool this cake would be completely bare. Some of the shapes of the tiers are actually quiet challenging to cover flawlessly.
